Logical system for new client

Hello experts,

I want to copy all users and assigned roles from Quality to the production system.

But as a safety measure I want to copy the existing users and role assignment from production system too one of the test system.

For this I created a new client in test system. My question is:

1) Do I've to create a logical system for this new client?

2) Is there any other step that I need to take beside creating RFC connection?

Hi,

It depends on your client settings.

You can check it in scc4.

If you set it to "automatic recording of changes",then if u make any changes system automatically prompts you to create a transport request.

As of my understanding,you have created some roles in devolopment and bundeled them in transport request.

Then moved that request to Quality.

Now you want move it to production.

Is this right??

Can you answer why we get a transport request screen when we save the logical client?

HI,

Please follow the following steps.

1)Create a logical system in SALe.No need import the transport request to all systems.

2)Assign the logicaal system to client in SCC4

3)After that u can perform the client copy.

NOTE:In real time environment er never copy from quality to production.

I was just confused after getting the the transport window.

I've modified few roles in Dev and then moved it to Quality, users tested in both Dev and QAS and now I will move them in Production.

Just to be on safe side I copied existing users and roles to a new client in Development system.

I hope i'm approach is safe and according to best pratices.

Thanks for your respone.

After creating entry in SALE it is generating a transport request.

Do I've to import this request in all of my systems?

Do I need to create logical system in newly created client or in any client?
