Increase the length of field Number

Hi

I have a requirenment to Increase the length of field Number of Nota fiscal in SAP

This field is primarily in the Nota Fiscal table (J_1BNFDOC-NFNUM)

at present the field length is 6, however need to increase this to 9

Is there a way we can do this.

Hi,

You can ask a ABAP guy to do that for you with a Access Key from SAP.

But It's not advisable to di such a change to a field. Because yo might have to do same for where ever that filed get picked up. We cannot exactly say what are the areas like that. Then you might ended up with Run time errors.

Can't you find another filed to do same with required length?

Hi,

It is technically possible to modify field length by modifying the domain of the field. You will need an access key from SAP for this.

However it is not at all advisable to make changes to standard SAP fields at all.
