Trouble with SCOT --- need ur help

Hi,

Take a look @ how I have configured the SCOT and please try to notifiy me where exactly i am committing mistake.

Physical machine

Local Host name: sapserver

IP address:192.168.1.2

Vmware machine

Domain controller

Domain Name: accenture.com

host Name: master

Full computer name: master.accenture.com

IP address:192.168.1.3

I can see the both systems in the workgroup that means both are in shared mood.

In Local host I have installed SAP i.e only ABAP engine.

Steps:-

1) I have enabled SMTP node in smicm i.e.8025

2) I have activated SMTP Frame work in sicf.

3) I selected scot and gone to settings/default domain and here I have given as "accenture.com"

4) I double click the SMTP node and select " Node in use" .

5) I entered in mail host as " master".

6) I clicked Internet set and given * in address area.

7) I have created user with ID as " superuser" and given an entry in mail ID as "superuser.accenture.com"

😎 I send a message and given recipient name and type as " superuser.accenture.com" and " internet" and select " expres"

9) After sending the message and againg go to SCOT and when I refresh I got the message in waiting list.

10) When I select start send process I got a window of list of sent objects

11) Then I get a window saying " SAPoffice express info" when I select continue it is going into error list.

12) When I go and chk the trace levels I got the below statements.

kindly check through telnet that you are able to access email server

i.e. telnet mailserver smtpport

I have logged with superuser ID and the sending address is also with superuer.accenture.com is that fine because here the sender and the receiver is same.

Do u have Internet so that u can log on to my system remotelly and identify the error.

Hi ,

Pls check the below step , confirm all the thing done.

1. Use transaction SCOT

2. From tope menu: View -> System Status

3. Double Click on SMTP

4. You will get a window and fill in description

5. Tick the "Node in use" box

6. Enter the hostname of the email exchange server

7. Mail port will be 25

8. Click on the button next to Internet called "Set"

9. You will get another window, in the "address area" box, enter *

10. Click the green check button to exit the second window

11. Click the green check button to exit the main window

12. From top menu: Settings -> Default Domain

13. in the small box that appears enter the domain name which is the last part after the

14. You need to define a job to process the email, from top menu: View -> Jobs

15. From top menu: Job -> Create

16. Enter a name

17. Click on "INT" in the list then "Schedule job" button

18. Enter start date and time, then click on "Schedule Periodically" button

19. Enter something like every 10 minutes.

20. the configuration is now complete. To test it, you need to have an email defined in your user id properties. Use SU01 for that.

21. Use transaction SO00

22. Put Title, and text in the body, then enter your email address below, the recepient type would be "internet address"

23. After a maximum of 10 minutes you should get the email address.

I also checked at the client side with the command " TELNET". As it is connecting

220 master.accenture.com ArGoSoft Mail Server Freeware, Version 1.8 (1.8.6.9)

Note:- Are there any editings to be done in "SICF".

Kindly follow the microsoft link for this error :

And the observation is the SMTP ports are blocked for your SAP system. Kindly open with the help of your server administrators and check.

After sending new mail in SBWP .

Check in Tcode :- SOST whether mails are getting populated over there or not.

Hi,

I have just changed the mail host name and it is now throwing into error list and it is in a waiting list.

as shown below

As I checked with the mail box it is throwing an error saying " SERVER IS NOT CONNECTED" as shown below

The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'master.accenture.com', Server: 'master.accentute.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Do u need any more information to investigate

I have checked with what u have said from the localserver and it has been connected as shown in the below command.

" 220 master ArGoSoft Mail Server Freeware, Version 1.8 (1.8.6.9) "

After this what should I need to do.

I have created a user in the ArGoSoft mail server with the name superuser " superuser.accenture.com".

this is in domain server.

SU01 info below

I have given " SAP_ALL" , " SAP_NEW" , S_A.SYSTEM. profiles with the email ID superuser.accenture.com.

As here I have gone through " other communication tab" in address tab. The below screen appears and I just copied without editing any thing here.

Hi,

Do I need to install JAVA addin for ABAP is this complusary.

no, java is not required , ICM is capable to fulfill your requirement.

i have given mail host as " master" and port as 25.

Check that you sap server is able to reoslve mail server host master

Try to telnet from your SAP server to mail server on port 25 and check whether ports are open or not,

As well as you have to add sap server as relay agent in Mal server

<sap server> telnet master 25

Hi ,

I have installed only ABAP engine on my system.

I have enabled SMTP port i.e. 8025.

I have given default domain in SCOT as " accenture.com"

i have given mail host as " master" and port as 25.

I have given " * " in address tab i.e internet.

I have created 2 users one as superuser with address " superuser.accenture.com" i.e. dialog user.

and the second one as kiran with address " kiran.accenture.com" i.e. system user with conserned profile.

I have given the client and system user and password and saved.

I have activated SMTP in SICF.

Is there any thing else to be done in SICF.

I gone to sbwp and enter a message and given the recipent add as " superuser.accenture.com" and selected "INT".

When I chk in SCOT and when I execute it is falling in error column.

Do I need to install JAVA addin for ABAP is this complusary.

error says it is communication error between SAP & smtp server.

Which port you have mention in SCOT --> view --> node --> double click on SMTP --> in area of SMTP connection what is a ip and port you have mention.
