Hello,
in Web Reporting I get "500 Connection timed out" when executing a query. In RSRT the same query does just fine.
What can I do in order to get the query run fine in Web Reporting?
Thanks,
Angelika
Hello Angelika
Proceed as follows: insert the parameter icm/keep_alive_timeout with a value
of 300 (via RZ10). This way, the time out only appears after 5 minutes
instead of 1. The same setting can be modified in transaction SMICM, but
after restart of the server this doesn't
have any affect anymore and is lost

Hi Angelika,
This problem normally occurs when your LAN settings are not configured correctly on the client machine. You can report this problem to your system administrator/Basis Consultant.
Alternately if you know the proxy address of your organization, than in your web browser go to
Tools ---> Internet Options ---> Connections tab ---> LAN Settings ---> Advanced
There in the proxy server field, type the name of your proxy server and it should work. Just check the name of the server in the URL when you run the query on the web. It should be the same as the one you enter in the proxy server field in the advanved LAN settings.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Sumit

Angelika,
Increase timeout for queries .
This can be done using SMICM or ask your BASIS to do the same..
This could be an ideal starting point:

ms/http_timeout:
Timeout for network operations. If there is no activity on the connection within this time period, the connection to the HTTP client is terminated. The timeout value is expressed in seconds. The default is 20.
