Material moved to inactive status

Hi Gurus ,

Can you please help :

How to move a material to an inactive status.

Is there any standard functionality / setting , when a material has been moved to an inactive status, it would remove them from the reports (standard / custom) i.e. the details should not appear in the report outputs.

Any pointers in this case would be helpful.

There is no inactive indicator, you may want to customize a material status for that, which can restrict the use of this material, however, the material status has no effect on reports.

even you can flag a material for deletion, this will not hide the material from any report.

You may need to archive the material master, to get it off your SAP production system, then it will not appear in reports.
