Ready job

HI,

We have a job that is in ready status.The problem is that it is on a apps server that is giving a error "Communication error with server sact_BWR_03 :00024No connect to database, session terminated###".We cannot even go into the sm50 of that apps server.How can we cancel a ready job.Thanks in advance.

Hi Ambarish,

Login to OS of your application server and run R3trans command to check communication between apps and db.

run command as below.

R3trans -d

if you get error after executing the command, then pls paste the content of trans.log in forum.

you will get trans.log file in the location where you have run the above command.

Hi,

Seems your application server is not having communication with database instance. Also, please confirm if your application server is a central instance or dialog instance. As per my knowledge we cannot cancel a job in ready status. You can try to rexecute the job. For that go to SM37 select the job with Ready status and then go to Job->Check Status. Then this will display a pop-up asking to start in ASAP or to change the status of job to schedule. Select Start ASAP which will run the job.

If you want to delete the job then choose schedule and then delete the job.

If your application server is a dialog instance then you can give an instance restart.

Hi,

First to delete the job from SM37 job overview screen>select the job>click on detele button.

First check whether the user has enough RFC authorization.

If the user id doesn't have enough authorizations it wil not be able to acces other appserver.
