Hello,
We have to upgrade our 4.72 R/3 and 3.50 BW (both - Oracle 9.2) into ECC 6.0 and BW 7.0 (both - Oracle 10.2).
We will have 2 separated servers running on Linux RHEL5 with local hard disks for all the data for ECC 6.0 and BW 7.0 with 2 separated EE Oracle 10.2 instances for them (processors licenses).
Yet, I didn't find information which Oracle additional options have to be active in our SAP systems for these instances.
Here the list of this additional options:
Active Data Guard
Partitioning
Real Application Testing
Advanced Compression
Total Recall
Advanced Security
Label Security
Database Vault
OLAP
Data Mining
Data Profiling and Quality
Spatial
In-Memory Database Cache
Retail Data Model
How can I check which options I need to activate for new Oracle instances?
Could anybody send me note numbers? (I didn't find any)
Ireneusz
Hello Ireneusz,
> ..... for all the data for ECC 6.0 and BW 7.0 with 2 separated EE Oracle 10.2 instances for them (processors licenses).
So if i understand you right, you will install your oracle databases on a different server and don't get the oracle licenses trough SAP ... Sapnote #740897 describes the required oracle options.

H Stefan again,
In the note: 740897 I couldn't find any informaton about options:
- Advanced Compression (I found only: table, table on PSA, index compressions)
- Total Recall (?)
- Data Profiling and Quality (?)
- In-Memory Database Cache (I found only: In-Memory Undo for BI 7.0)
- Retail Data Model (?)
I found a document released by Oracle desribing oracle database functionality with SAP products - no information about above mentioned options...
Can you say something about it?
Many thanks,
Ireneusz
Hello Ireneusz,
some of your mentioned features are available with Oracle 11g or above (for example Total Recall).
You only need to license the features that are mentioned in sapnote #740897 ... anything else is not supported or will follow in the future.
For more information about "new" planned supported options (for example Advanced Compression) .. check the SAP on Oracle Development Update:
Regards
Stefan
