Hi Vignesh,

MDM Server has to be in Running status for mounting your repository.

Please check for the following while mounting the repository:

1. Input valid DBMS Name, Login and Password. Incase DBMS server name doesnt appear in the dropdown, browse and select DBMS server known to MDM.

2. Important : DBMS login must have system administrator access.

Violation of any of the above mentioned points might be restricting you from mounting the repo.

Hi Vignesh,

It is possible to mount a repository only if the server is already running. On a stopped server you cannot mount any repository.

Do i have to stop the server and load the repository ?

For loading a repository, first it needs to be mounted. On a stopped server, we cannot mount a repository.

1.Start the server

2.Mount the repository

3.Load the repository.

The Error Message "Unable to connect to database server" is because the MDM Server is failing to connect to the Oracle.

First check all the connection parameters are correct as mentioned by Vinay.

To know more about the error , refer Server - > Logs

Hi,

You need the DBMS login credentials to Mount the repository. Ask the guy who has setup the MDM environment. On successful login to database server you will get all the repositories available to mount on your MDM server.

Hi Vignesh,

Also make sure that...

For 64-bit machine you are using 64-bit oracle client.

And for 32-bit machine 32-bit oracle client...

Hi Vignesh,

Please also make sure to install an Oracle client on the MDM host machine that the MDS is running on. This is also a must before mounting a repository.

Hope this helps,
