Hi Experts,
I have 13+ year of ERP Admin experience That ERP is not exact SAP but 60-70% similar to basis and functional. But that ERP is getting down to very low percentage and ready to die soon. I also went over 2 full lifecycle implementations and I have lot of expertise in migrations, server architecture etc.
One of my Basis friends showed me the features of SAP and I felt very less learning curve in adopting Basis/NetWeaver or SAP is same landscape.
In my 12+ years, in addition to solid ERP Administration, I developed great business knowledge; learn functionality of SD, MM, FI modules and also completed MBA in US. BTW I am in US for 10+ years and I have my GC.
The questions I haveu2026
1. Is this good time to move to Basis? And make Basis/Basis lead or Basis Manager Etc as my career for my rest of the life?
2. If I get into any company as Basis guy, what probability to move up as Basis Manager/ERP manager (next 5+ years) based on my MBA and business knowledge?
3. BTW, I have a full time job at current but I want to get access, spend more time in Basis & certify in Basis in next 5 months. Is it worthwhile?
4. Knowing and expertise in well used ERP is very beneficial in long run, what you think?
