ECC 6 Performance Issue

Former Member

Hello Experts,

ECC 6.0 (Win 2003 Server+Oracle) was recently installed in a laptop for learning purposes. What are the general post installation steps which has to be performed? The standard installation guide from SAP Marketplace mentions different steps, however are all of these steps necessary?? This is a single system landscape aimed for learning functional customization only.

Also notice the performance is poor, is this normal for a system with a hardware config is 1.8 GHz, Core2 Duo with 4GM RAM?

Thanks,

Aravind

all post installation steps are not necessary...

Please check your swap menory...it should be set at least 3*physical RAM. On laptops, generally performance will be average.

Thanks Imran.

Note that SWAP is set to 20 GB. Please suggest general performance tuning measures.

not much tuning required as it is for training system.

till u can try below standard post steps

1.Run transaction SM21 to initialize the Syslog

2.Import profiles (RZ10 -> Utilities -> Import profiles -> of active servers).

3.Setup the zero administration memory management acc. to OSS-note 88416

etc...

Best Regards

Imran

Remember to run SGEN too if it is not done already.

And be prepared to wait for several days for SGEN to complete on a laptop... !
