Regarding visibility of catalogs during functional approval step

Hi Guys,

Hopefully some can help me with the following:

In the SRM-MDM catalog we currently have defined a couple of named searches. These u2018subu2019 catalogs are assigned to different organizational departments in the org. structure. For some specialized products the named searches are only assigned to some product experts, also the functional approvers for the product groups to which these special products belong.

Now when a requester enters a free text shopping cart, a functional approver has the complete the SC. For some products (e.g. IT stuff) only the functional approvers have been assigned the sub catalogs (named searches) in which these products remain.

During processing of a work item, the functional approver wants to replace the free text item, by a product from the special catalog which is assigned only to him. However, when the functional approver is processing the work item, and wants to add a product from a catalog, he only sees the catalog(s) which have been assigned to the requester of the SC. He does not see the catalogs which are assigned to him in the org structure.

So my question is, during processing of a work item, is there any means to influence the availability of catalogs to the processor (functional approver) of the work item. So that he sees the catalogs assigned to him in the org. structure, and not the ones assigned to the requester of the SC.
