I ran a test upgrade from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 on a new server. I created a Solution Manager instance and an ECC instance. Now I would like to delete the ECC instance and run the upgrade again by copying in my production data. My question is what is the best way to delete the ECC objects while keeping the Solution Manager? If I run DLTR3INST and DLTR3SYS will that just delete the ECC system but retain everything that I need for the Solution Manager system? The ECC system is ABAP only.
Thanks,
Alan
Hi Alan,
yes, DLTR3INST will only delete a single instance and DLTR3SYS will only delete a single system. As your solution manager is a different system than your ECC, it will be left alone when you do a DLTR3SYS on the ECC system.

Christoph

Hi Prasad,
I don't agree to your statement before at all!
There are not just the SID specific directories and libraries. If you want to delete a system in a clean and safe way you should use the tools (DLTR3SYS, DLTR3INST).
Best regards
Christoph
