What do I need to develop WebDynPro applications for EP6 SP2?

Do I need a separated J2EE 6.40 or I only use it to develop, and my apps run at J2EE 6.20 (SP2)??

hi,

sorry, but your EP6SP2 portal won't run any WebDynpro applications, since its based on the WAS6.20.

The webdynpro-runtime-environment is available beginning with WAS6.40.

So you'll need an extra WAS6.40 installation.

Integrating the webdynpro-applications in your portal via url-integration should work, but then you can't use any portal-infrastructure services.

If you integrate Webdynpro into EP6 via URL, you can use the client-side eventing (e.g. for navigation) of EP6. The CSS stylesheets are also taken automatically from the portal.

By using PORTAL EVENTING and subscribing to the EVENT in the ANOTHER IVEWS NAMESPACE interaction between IVEWS is possible.
