GATP quantity limit

Hi,

I woul like to know if GATP can suport the next case:

In this case I want to limit the quantity of a SKU that I client will buy for a period of time. Example: for the next 2 months I define for that client X I will sell him 1000 units. The time starts to run and the Client X makes a sales order for 100, then for 150, then for 200, the for 70..........when the sum of the sales orders are equal to 1000 I want that GATP tells me that I cannot dispatch more to this client because he has reached the 1000 units.

Is this scenario possible in GATP? How will it work? Where do I should have the 1000, in DP or SD? Can I accumulate past sales orders in GATP?

Thanks in advance

7,

The functionality you are describing is called Product Allocation. SAP SCM supports this functionality. It replaces the old Allocation functionality that used to be popular in SAP R/3. The allocation data is usually stored and maintained in a specialized type of planning area, similar to DP.

Here is standard SAP SCM help on the subject. Since this implementation is really like two implementations at once (GATP and DP), I can say that it is not trivial to put into place if neither of these have already been implemented. If you have no experience in implementing these modules, I suggest you enlist the help of an expert.

Hi,

You can control this using allocation functionality of GATP.
