Hi everyone .... what is the advantages in plan Net Requirements with DP-BOM insteady SNP .
It is possible to plan Multilevel BOM using DP_BOM?
Thank You
Mauricio
Hi Mauricio
DP BOM as such was developed for industries where the sales data was not comming directly on the FG for the company rather it was on the FG oif the customer product. ( like Wheel manufacturer for a automobile company) and for those where it was very necessary to know the demand on the low level codes so that the forecast can be accordingly adjusted if it was going high or very low.
DP net requirement is a very gross level planning for low levels as compared to SNP which can consider a lot of things like acual stock, capacity, plant, network ... etc.
DP BOM is just to bring the demand down to low level codes and release it further to SNP /ECC or PPDS for planning.
If the purpose is to only exlode the BOM and get the component level demands it is best to use DP BOM as you will not have to release the demand to SNP explode the BOM and then release the component demands back to DP. Then release it back to SNP or ECC.
But if you want to consider the capacity constraints and other things it is always advised to release it to SNP take a run and again release it back to DP.
Well regarding Multilevel BOM i dont think it is supported but you can put all the materials in one PPM only. If the requirement is not otherwise.
