Amit ,
Iam not sure what your business requirement. The procedure to add a new characteristic to the MPOS was clearly explained in the previous messages.
But here is a suggestion. If your business reqmts permit you can consider making the new characteristic a navigational attribute of an existing characteristic. That way you just have to modify the parent characteristic and you can by pass the procedure of having to deactivate your MPOS , recreating CVC's etc ..
Thanks

Hi Amit,
You need to be extra careful in order to keep all you data.
Here is a process if you want to keep the same planning area, however it might be easier to create a new one... It is less risky and simplify the golive.... please consider this option!
If you still prefer to keep the same, have a look below - as a reference, and test it carefully in your test system. Of course this is only guideline, which can var ybased on your scenario:
1. Backup your data in a cube
2. Create you future backup cube (including the new charactersitic
3. (optional: if you do not have a source to generate CVC). create flow to load the data from the current backup to the future backup - this is a one off. Here you need to implement your logic to define the value of your new characteristic.
4. Deactivate your planning area
5. Deactivate your POS (you loose all your CVC!)
6. Change (or transport) your POS
7. Change (or transport) your planning books
8. Reactivate POS
9. Recreate CVC from the new backup cube: it will also populate the new charactersitic according to the logic you put in place in the cube
10. Reactivate your PA
11. Load the data back from the new backup
12. check if your data are OK
You are done!
Good luck
Julien
