Hi,

We are doing a system refresh and trying to bring up sap after the db restore.

When i start sap through the MMC the dispatcher , i get a message "dipatcher running but not connected to message server".

Then the dispatcher stops.

When i check the dev_w0 file, i get the following message:

You need to delete the old license and install the license for your new system...

You can do that at OS level using saplicense command,

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/Helpdata/EN/1a/6cd7c6e8a111d18d970000e816c2ff/content.htm

Hi RAjiv,

Which OS you are using is it Windows or Unix.

If it is windows , then restart all the oracle services and then login to sqlplus and start the database.

sqlplus "/as sysdba"

sqlplus> startup

If it is unix , then kill the Oracle process and then login to sqlplus and start the database.

sqlplus "/as sysdba"

sqlplus> startup

Thanks

ORA-01033: ORACLE initialization or shutdown in progress

That means your DB is not open... its in between a startup or a shutdown, stop the system and try starting the db manually until you see that the db is open successfully.

Read SAP Note 655240 - Composite SAP note: ORA-01033

Hi,

To me it looks like you need to double check your Oracle service and SAP service users...You may need to change it to test.

I have had somthing similar in the past that changing the service users remedied the problem.....

Try just using the local system account. Also check for good measure you environment settings
