I installed MI 7.1 on windows server 2003 on sql server 2005.
I created the RFC connection from MI 7.1 to ECC 6.0 EHP4 system.
The RFC test connection failed.
I am able to ping both the host name and ip address successfully.
Please help me trouleshoot.
Thnks in advance.
The userid we used for the RFC connection didnt have the rfc authorisation in the target system.

Hi,
I'm sorry for replying so late to this thread.
Actually we figured that the problem was that the userid given in the logon tab of the RFC configuration doesnt have the authorisation on the target system.
Thanks for all who replied.

Hi Nanda,
Check these steps:
1.Enter target hostname in the host name file located in the following folder:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
2. Under SM59 --> Select Connection Type as ABAP Connection
Under Technical Settings --> Target Host as described in the hostname file
Under Logon & Security --> Enter Lang, Client, User & Password
3. After saving test with Connection Test then Authorization Test under--> Utilities --> Test
Hope this helps...

Maintain the Host name details in the hosts file, of the destination server in the source system.
Is there any firewall settings ?
