why project defn and 1 level wbs will be same identification.any reason
just good proactive especially if you have one root ticked in configuration - in this scenario project def and WBS level 1 are the same object the only difference being that proj def is not an account assignment object in SAP, but the level 1 WBS is - this means that you do not ever post any cost to the proj def, but you post cost on WBS and the rolled up value on the level 1WBS also represent the proj

As per my understanding in most of the cases all the cost and revenues for a project are analysed at the top level WBS element hence the top level WBS element has the same nomenclature as the Project Definition.
