Hi Grace,

Hardware should be enough, is the behavior on server the same as on the client?

If you use the query analyzer and do a "select * from oitm" how long does it take on server and on the client?

Dear Ad,

Thank you for your reply.

At server, when i press "tab" in sales documents and monitor the memory usage at server, it increase until 2GB of RAM and hang.

At Clients, it totally hang and came out a message "virtual memory low".

"select * from oitm" take around 1 - 2 minutes at clients.

Hi Grace,

I have never seen this behaviour, just pressing tab should not increase the memory usage to 2Gb, have you tried to load the database on another machine and tested this?

what version are you using?

Select from oitm time doesn't look strange to me.

Hi Grace,

did you change the choosefromlist settings ?

Did you select grouping ?

Look into table CHFL.

There you can find the settings.

If there's no other way, delete the settings for the object

and try again.

Hope it helps !

Dear Holger,

thanks, now it is work....

but i dont understand why the setting will effect the application become 'hang'?

the other question is why when i run "select * from oitm" it will also make my system hang?

Hi,

Looks like the problem wasn´t the selecction, but the "painting" of the data or the matrix loading performance.

I don´t think the query is hanging your system. It usually looks like it is hanged, but after a while the result is shown.

Hello,

I Quote the post before

did you change the choosefromlist settings ?

Did you select grouping ?

Look into table CHFL.

Where can I find the choosefrom list setting?

What's mean by select grouping, you mean choose the itemgroup in searching ?

I see about thirty rows in CHFL, do I need to delete it?

Thanks

Hi Grace,

Your are talking about data being more than 50,000. 50,000 of what.

We have clients with about 200,000 different item and databases of 6 Gb of more and no performance problems.

What are the hardware spec?
