Problems logging on to NW 2004s

Former Member

I am trying to log on to a new standalone instance of SAP Web AS 640 on a single PC. I used the following sets of values:

System ID=NSP

Message Server = localhost

System ID=NSP

Message Server = <computer-name>

Both efforts yield a similar error that indicates it's not finding the local netweaver instance.

Error: partner not reached (host 127.0.0.1 service sapmsNSP)

Component NI(network interface). version 37

rc= -10.module nixxi.cpp, line 8602

Detail NiPConnect2

System Call SiPeekPendConn

Error No 10061

'WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused'

What am I doing wrong here? Do I need to start something else first? The following Windows services are already started:

SAPDB: NSP

SAPNSP_00

SAPOsCol

Make sure that in the SAP MMC, the NSP system is running(yellow or green). In SAP logon pad, make sure that system number is 00. Also, have you installed the LoopBack Adapter?

Thanks for the responses. Between them, I have made some process.

Yes, the loopback adapter was installed (prior to installing WAS 2004s). Loopback adapter does not have

an ip address as this is a standalone instance.

When you mentioned "SAP logon pad", were you referring to the logon pad

in sapmmc or in SAPGUI? In the properties for NSP(localhost), the system

number is 00.

In sapmmc, NSP is yellow. SAP 0 was green, but is now yellow.

In sapmmc, the SAP 0 is running, but in the process list,

the process "disp+work.EXE" (dispatcher) lists as

"Running but Dialog Queue standstill".

Also, in SAPGUI, I am trying to logon:

localhost (CyntechSAP_NSP_00, DIA UPD ENQ BTC SPO ICM)

But then I get a popup box that hangs with "waiting for response"

The following Windows services are started:

SAPDB: NSP

SAPNSP_00

SAPOsCol

These Windows services are not started:

SAPDB: .M760018

Please try an give the ip address to the loopback adapter. Use IP 10.10.0.10

You SAPgui logon pad settings are ok if you are using..

Application Server: localhost

System ID: NSP

System Number: 00

Hi lee,

u have to assign a ip address as rich mentioned and the ip address u have to enter in c:\WINNT\system32\drivers\ets\hosts file.

like 10.10.10.10 computername

this is because u are installing in a stand alone PC, when u logon to NSP through GUI u have to assign the ip address as application server name which u entered in loop back adapter.

HI lee,

Did u Solved the problem. If u still facing it Here is the way. Go to Sap Management Console. Right Click on the root Node and start the service. It will ask you username and password. If you enetered it wait for a some time as it takes time to start the three servers. In between if you still try to access SAP GUI you will get same error. So Later you access the SAP GUI You will able to acces it.

I hope this will help you

As I mentioned earlier, loopback adapter was already created/configured.

The following values were already in etc/hosts:

127.0.0.1 localhost

10.10.0.10 localhost

But I also just went to the Device Manager GUI and gave the following value

to the MS Loopback Adapter:

Network Address 10.10.0.10

From SAPgui 640

partner not reached (host 127.0.0.1, service sapdb00)

Module nixxi_r.cpp

Line 8602

Method NiPConnect2

Return Code -10

System Call SiPeekPendCondd

Error 10061 WSAECONNREFUSED: Connection refused

Counter 1

At this point, when I try to use the logon pad to log on,

I get a "waiting for response" popup box that never goes away.

Hi

Ensure that SAPSysosCol() service is running. If not, start manually.

Hi Lee,

As i understand there is a problem with network. just check the loopback Adapter. is it running or not? and one more thing u have to enter the exact ip address in sap logon pad whatever u entered in loopback adapter.

I do not see a place in the logon pad to enter the IP

addr for the loopback adapter.
