Solution Manager EHP1 and Managed system AS JAVA ( EP 7.0 ) & We have plan to configure the system monitoring for the AS JAVA System.

Need advice / Key steps

HI,

You can do this in two ways:

1) Monitoring using wily introscope which gives a Graphical overview. but you cant get automated alerts for this.This has a wider flexibility.

2) System Monitoring: You need to install SAPCCMSR agent with "-j2ee" option(pointing to central system).Maintain the System data in SMSY with Java component as reference(use SLD) and use CCMS context to configure the alerts.

For Wily Introscope, you need to do prior configuration of Solution manager diagnostic. Once this is done successfully, you can see data through Wily Introscope.

By having threshold limits for KPI, you can monitor through CCMS agents.

You can also monitor through GRMG--Heart beat monitoring of java stack.

This means the we can`t configure the System Monitoring without CCMS Installation / configuration of Managed System

HI Rohan,

This is not like you can't do without CCMS. In ABAP we do the monitoring through RFCs and CCMS. In the same way, here we can do Java monitoring through CCMS or with the help of any agents say Introscope agent or diagnostics agent.
