Class movement 999.

Hi Friends,

when there are differences in confirming TO, the system sends the quantities of difference the storage type 999 running a class movement 999, the question is how the system knows to use the class movement 999.

Many Thanks.

Richard Nagashi.

Hi Richard,

The Difference INdicator controls to which storage type and storage bin the Difference is moved. The IMG menu path is Log Execution > Waerhouse > Activities > Confirmation > DEfine Difference INdicator.

Hi,

I think there is a lack of understanding in this thread.

If I understand you right, you would like to know where you can configure the movements of differences in WM.

You can find it in SPRO -> Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Activities -> Transfers -> Confirmation -> Difference Indicator.

In there you can say that if there is a difference while confirming a transfer order the amount of material which cannot be found may moved to a "difference area".

The transfer order amount of material will be reduced and the difference quantity will be moved automatically to that difference area.

The reason for that has two simple meanings.

1st. Any transfer requirment will be open again to fullfill the request in a second warehouse move

2nd. The material which could not be found was moved away from the next stock removal run.

Until now there was no IM movement!

As a result sombody must now check the removal bin in the warehouse if the stock is not sored in a neighbourhood bin.

If tha material could be found during that session, it can be moved back from 999-difference to a bin in the warehouse and it is available for stock removals again or it must be booked out via LI21.

Hope this explains it al little.

Best regards

Hi Uwe.

Thanks for your reply it's just what I'm looking, but as the system recognizes when there is a difference in confirmation that you must move the difference in the amounts to the class of movement 999.

Where provision is made to use the class of movement 999 to move confirmation differences.

In OMLL you have assigned positive inventory difference & clear inventory difference Movement types as 712 & 711.

Again in OMLJ you are giving source & destination types as 999 against these Movement types. There is no class Movement type 999.

Hi

check the notes :

Movement Type Link to Inventory Management

You post a goods receipt for a purchase order by choosing Logistics ® Materials management ® Inventory management ® Goods movement ® Goods receipt ® For purchase order ® PO number known (or PO number unknown) from the SAP main menu bar. On the initial screen you enter, among other fields, the movement type, for example 101.

The system reads the table in which the IM movement type is assigned to a reference movement type and finds that the movement type 101 for a goods receipt is in the table. This movement type 101 points to reference movement type (Ref column) 101. If the reference movement type is 999, then the movement in IM has no impact on WM.

For instructions on how to define movement types and to display the table that links IM and WM movement types, see the section on the interface to Inventory Management in the Warehouse Management IMG documentation.

You can also display WM data when you are posting the goods receipt based on a purchase order in IM. On the screen for the individual item of a purchase order you can select a function to display WM information. This information includes the movement type, warehouse number and storage type, and an indicator that shows that a transfer requirement should be prepared for the specified movement type.

Reference Movement Type

In the above example, the system uses the reference movement type 101 to access the table in which a reference movement type is assigned to a WM movement type. In addition to the reference movement type, the system uses the settings for the first four indicators, as well as the warehouse number, to find the reference movement type. The entry of *** in the Warehouse number column of the table indicates that the reference movement type is valid for all warehouses. The system finds that the movement type for WM (column MTy) is also 101. If the TR column is selected, it means that a transfer requirement will be created automatically by the IM component when the goods receipt is posted. This line also contains special indicators for stock and movements.
