Requirement,

BOM should not explode in sales order,

Bom should not explode in MRP and should not create planned order.

BOM is for information purpose only.

which BOM usage type shall I select to create master data considering above requirements?

Hi Vrajesh

If BOM should not explode in sales order , MRP and should not create a planned order and as BOM is for Information Purpose only then maintain BOM Usage type as Text .

1 - Production

2-Engineering/design

3-Universal

4-plant maitenance

5-Sales and distribution

6-COSTING

7- returnable packaging

Hi Vrajesh

Thanks for re correcting me , maintain item usage as Universal but once you create with universal maintain those materials as text materials. Once you enter in CS01 maintain data as text items / sub items. Then those items wont affect in MRP,sales order. Until you create sales order with those materials. But if you create sales order with those materials then it will reflect to MRP , sales order and other data also.

But why you want to go in such a way that it should not reflect MRP,sales order , what is your requirement ?
