System is showing incorrect message for new storage type 9ZA

Hi,

We have created a new storage type say 9ZA, for this storage type allow negative stock is unchecked in the configuration settings and message no. L9040 has been set to error message (XYZ Available stock shortfall of zzz interim storage bin).

After this we have assigned destination storage type as 9ZA for material say "M1", and then while doing process order creation and confirmation system is showing an error message as follows:

*"M1 Available stock shortfall of 100 KGS interim storage bin".*

*Message no. L9040*

*In customizing, the setting is such that no negative stock is allowed in storage type 914. However, this posting will cause negative 00123456 of storage type 914.*

My question is that, system is showing the above error message as mentioned, but why the system is showing the incorrect error message for storage type 914, instead it should display an error message for storage type 9ZA, which is misleading. Plz. help.....

Hi

What may also be a problem is that SAP normally recognises all st types begining with 9 as 'Interim St Types' and this may be confusing. Create new st types with something other that 9XX

What system is showing is correct.

In this case you are talking about 9ZA.

After this we have assigned destination storage type as 9ZA for material say "M1"

I understand that you have given 9ZA in search strategy. But it is not destination storage type. It is source storage type.

Destination storage type is taken from Movement type 261. Look into Movement type settings in OMLJ.
