How to resolve Material * is not defind for sales org.*,distr.chan * error?

I already created the customer and the sales organization/division/sales area but in creating an sales order and error prompts that the material is not define in the specified sales organization. Please advice on how to configure this tyoe of error. Thanks.

hi,

extend the material to that particular sales organisation and distribution channel

goto mm02, enter the material,

select Sales: Sales Org. Data 1view and click organisational levels and select sales organisation, distibution channel and plant

maintain data and save

Dear

Just need to *GOTO-- MM02--SELECT SALES VIEW( SALESORG1,SALESORG2 AND SALES GENERAL PLANT) AND ENTER IT WILL ASK FOR SALES ORG PLANT AND DISTRIBUTION CHANNEN PUT THE SAME NAD SAVE*.

Hi,

First you need to find out the sales area (SO/ DC/ Division) your material was created. To find that go to MM02 & enter your material number under "Material" & press "Organizational levels" button.

Highlight all tabs using "Select All" button in the "Select View" pop up.

Press "Organizational levels" button again

Place the cursor in the DC filed & press F4 search there.

You can see all sales areas that your material has been created.

Now check that with your sales area in the sales order that your trying to create.

Are they same??

If they are same, you should not getting any error.

If it's different, then you need to check for which sales areas you need to do the sale. (Create the sales order)

If it's different from sales area of the material. You have to extend your materials for that sales area.

To extend the material. Go to MM01transaction

Enter same Material number in "Material" field & Copy from "Material" field.

then press enter.

Highlight your views that you want to extend (Mainly sales tabs)

Enter existing SO / DC / Plant under "Copy From" section & enter new sales area under left side SO / DC / Plant fields.

Then system will give you a message saying your material will be extended.

Once you extend all tabs, save.

Now try to create a sales order for that sales area with that material.

You will not get that error again..

Kindly check the views maintained for the Material Master in MM02.If Sales View is not maintained ,then maintain it through MM01 with the specific Sales Org. & Distribution Channel.
