Hi all,
We have a problem with the text editor in transaction SMARTFORMS.
In change mode, when I click on the "General attributes" tab for a text element (to open the text editor), the following message is displayed (the text has been translated from NO, which is the system language):
SAPscriptWord2007.dotm is locked for editing by anoter user.
Do you want to:
- Open a read-only copy?
- Create a local copy and merge the changes later?
- Receive a message when the original is available again?
The message is displayed in a standard Windows dialog box.
There are no other concurrent users (as the message implies).
This message appears every time I try to open a text element in the text editor. To deal with it I usually click on the "Open a read-only copy" option. When I do so, the text element is displayed in the editor, and I can modify it as I wish.
I.e. the message doesn't cause any problems, but it is very annoying and time consuming as it appears every time I try to edit a text element...
Does anyone know what causes this...? All helpful answers will be rewarded!
Regards,
Mari

Hi all
We have exactly the same problem. Using Word 2007 as Editor, SAP GUI 720, R/3 4.7, Base 6.20.
Notes is implemented - Problem is probably located at Workstation installation.
SAP Notes 1308451 did not help
Neither can file SAPscriptWord2007.dotm be found on PC's Harddisk, nor is a common location defined like assumed in 1308451.
Even though this thread is closed, no solution is pointed out.
Please complete thread with solution which caused to close the thread.
Kind regards
Otto

Hi All,
We discovered this issue recently on out terminal servers where the users Office templates were redirected to a network share (
..\...). Moving the templates to a local path (c:\users\username\...) which is sync'd with the user profile resolved the issue. Hope this helps somehow.
Thanks
Hello Paul,
Thanks for the tips. I am now exactly facing the same problem after the ECC6 upgrade. This problem is reported in the Citrix environment where we have too many concurrent users calling the Long text edtior. How do I redirect the Location ?
Appreciate if you can give more details so that I can advise our Citrix support guys..

Karthi
Hello,
Could you please confirm us if the OSS note has solved your issue?
We have the same problem and the implementation of this OSS note does not give any result.
Thanks in advance.
AE.
