Hi,
I am trying to install CRM 7.0 on Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008. Everything works fine during the install until it reaches the 'Start Instance' step, when I get the following error message:
"ABAP processes of instance <SID>/DVEBMGS00 [ABAP:UNKNOWN] did not start after 10:00 minutes. Giving up."
I have looked in the log but I cannot see anything that would have caused this or how to resolve it.
Can anybody help me understand what the possible problem(s) might be?
Thanks

The installation is complete but the system can't be started.
Check the logs
dev_w0
dev_disp
in the work subdirectory of the instance.

Hi,
I couldn't find anything in the logs, but when I restarted SAPINST the instance started and I was able to logni.
However, I had to turn the server off yesterday evening for another reason and now the CRM system will not restart. The syslog says that there is a possible network problem and to check the tracefile. Can you tell me how I can view the tracefile?
Cheers
Hi,
I think that this is the bit of the tracefile in which I have the problem. Can you help me work out what the problem is? The system started yesterday but won't start today!

The extended memory can't be initialized, this is not a network but a memory problem.

Thanks for your replies so far.
Do you know how I can fix the problem? I didn't have a problem with starting the server yesterday and I haven't made any changes to Windows so I have no idea why this would have started happening today. Do I need to increase the size of the paging file? I currently have it set to 2048 - 20480.

Welcome to Windows indeterministics!

I'd use a fixed size page file, not system managed and of full size (20 GB).
Please post your full log dev_w0.
