ASSP Planning run result in No of days of Safety Days instead numbers

Hi,

We are using ASSP for Safety Stock calculation. Standard system calculates safety stock based upon Demand & Supply variability and calculates it in numbers.

But customer wants it to be in Number of days. How we can make that happen?? has any one worked in this before??

Any help will be appreciated.

Unfortunately the standard is indeed in quanity and not in days...

I think the best solution will be the use macro to recalculate the safety days based on the quantity calculated by the system. (safety days = safety stock / demand * number of days in the bucket - you can do the calculation based on the first bucket, normally all should give the same result)

However you need to develop a quite advanced macro to "bypass" the safety stock method defined in the master data for the final safety stock value... But it is feasible.

Another solution (that I have seen working) will be to redevelop your own calculation based on a DP planning book, but this requires advance knowledge in statistic, abap coding, and hard work....
