can objects from LDAP be searched if the LDAP connection gets failed

Hi experts,

Im using a standard program RSLDAPSYNC_SER to synchronize the objects from the LDAP to SAP system.

While debugging, it returns the LDAP connection error by the "LDAP_SYSTEMBIND" function module.

So is it possible to search the objects from the directory using the LDAP_OBJECT_SEARCH function if the LDAP connection gets failure? (I changed the SY_SUBRC value returned by the "LDAP_SYSTEMBIND" FM and continued to execute the ldap object search function module)

My doubt is, whether LDAP_OBJECT_SEARCH function module will be able to search the objects from the directory if the LDAP Connection gets failure. Bcoz, esatablishing the LDAP connection is the first step. After that only, the LDAP_OBJECT_SEARCH FM is called.

Shanthi
