GRC Overview

Where can I find an overview of the GRC module that will identify the components and provide best practices and strategies for implementation? I am also looking for an understanding of resource and time requirements to implement.

Hi Steve,

Joseph seems to have pointed you in the right direction of some good documents to get you an overview of the GRC tools and implementation strategies. I won't repeat these but if you do require further details or would like to talk through this feel free to contact me directly.

With regards to resources, you will need the following skills on your team:

- SAP Netweaver Skills for the tool installation.

- Java Skills for the Java components of the application install.

- SAP GRC Skills for the Configuration of the GRC Application.

- SAP Security Skills for the configuration and customisation of the RAR ruleset and remediation effort.

- BUSINESS ENGAGEMENT Skills to hold workshops with the business and understand the key business risks, categorise these and translate these. I am highlighting this one because a lot of people see a GRC project as a technical tool installation but it is not.

In terms of implementation time, with the right resources, hardware sizing, etc, you can get the tool installed and running within a couple of weeks. The real effort is in the remediation activities that follow on from this, cleaning up your roles and role allocations and documenting and deploying mitigating controls.
