Installing SAPsetup patch in slient mode

Hi,

I am trying to install sapsetup patch 22 using windows logon script in silent mode. The current sapsetup patchlevel is 12. I have tried using the /silent command line option but no success.

Is it possible to do this?

Regards,

Parthi

Hi,

According to the manual you can indeed use /silent or /noDlf. It works fine for me. Are you refering to 6.4 or 6.2, since the latest patchlevel is 18 for 6.4?

Hi Eddy,

I am referring to the 6.20 SAPSETUP patch 22. I need to update the sapsetup patchlevel before I can apply the SAPGUI patch 62.

The /silent switch works for GUI patches but does not work for my sapsetup patches.

Any switches for applying sapsetup patches?

Hi

How many SAPSetup installatios do you have?

Normaly the SAPSetup ist the central installation, so you don't need to update many SAPSetup.

Hi,

I have about 150 desktops to update SAPSetup & sapgui!

All the desktops are standalone type.

This works on 6.40:

C:\WINDOWS\SAPwksta\setupsapsetup /patch:c:\temp\SETUP640_21-10001615.EXE /silent

I beleive calling sapsetup will work on 6.20 too. I had the same problem trying to just execute the patch silently.

John
