System shuts down immediately after starting

I have performed a system copy using a procedure that worked great for me in the past. The target was an new empty iSeries that has never been used before. Everything seemed to copy just normally.

The problem is this:

I log on as <SID>OFR and start the system with option 2 from the R3TASKS menu. The usual work process jobs start up and immediately shut down.

The WP jobs have this in the job log:

CPC1224

Message . . . . : Job ended abnormally.

Cause . . . . . : A SIGKILL signal was received for the job. The action for the signal was to terminate the job.

Any suggestions of how to determine the cause here?

Thank you

Alan

Hi Alan,

you shoul have a look to the dispatcher log file (dev_disp).

As it is a new as400 migth be that the services are not maintained in the servis table

-> WRKSRVTBLE

Jurgen,

Thanks for your reply. You are right, the key was in that file. (Volker also pointed me in that direction). For some reason it had a name for my server that was not in my CFTGCP #10.

      • WARNING => DpNetCheck: NiHostToAddr(PTC02.PTC) failed (rc=-2)

I do not know where it got that address from. It is close to the correct address but because it was not exactly correct the network access failed. Once I made the change the jobs stayed up.

On to to the next problem....

Alan
