After starting the Application Server it takes some time for all the processes to start and run properly. I always get an error and the command window goes to orange-yellow color the first time I click on the shortcut. Then I wait for 10-12 minutes (Windows XP Pro SP3, 1,1 GHz Pentium M, 2 GB Ram) and everything works fine.

Thanks everyone!

start / jstart.exe still doesnot work even after 24hours waiting.

I'm afraid, a new instance should be installed.

hi,

Can you post the latest entries of the default trace? (D:\usr\sap\<sid>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log)

What was the last change you did or is it a newly installed system.

Hi Tobias,

1. NW was stopped via SAPMMC console

2. Custom Number of Server Nodes field value was changed to 2 in configtool

3. NW was successfully started and stopped via SAPMMC console

4. Custom Number of Server Nodes field value was changed to N/A (to get the previous config and since the field does not allow empty values.)

5. As the result the issue above occured (starting/restarting did not help)

Thank you

Unfortunatelly default trace is not updated. Start Up procedure stops very quickly (after about 30 seconds)

Jstart.exe stops after 04 sec elapsed time.

Custom Number of Server Nodes field value was changed to 2 in configtool

Where ? Can you say more clearly? Are you trying to change back to 2 as workaround?

The issue occurred as follows:

1. In the Config Tool open the instance node

2. Switch to the SERVERS Tab.

3. In the Custom Number of Server Nodes field enter 2 and save

4. Use sapmmc to Stop and Start the Netweaver instance

5. Once the instance has been started stop it again

6. In the Custom Number of Server Nodes field clear 2, enter

N/A and save (I should have used RESET button instead )

7. Try to start the Netweaver instance using sapmmc

Jstart.exe is not starting
