SSL and/or WD for PI?

new PI 7.1 Enh 1 install.

I work in a hostile environment (a university). All our SAP's are protected by firewall. All users including myself (sap basis) are outside firewall. PI access seems to be mostly by browser. Can SSL be used? What about SSL and WebDispatcher?

I can't use unprotected HTTP! Would a VPN be a better match?

Pages I've found so far (eg /rwb tab SLD registration) don't register protocol (http/https), just host and port.

Anyone else use PI in a secure environment?

ken,

SSL and webdispatcher would solve the issue I feel. Webdisptacher works as a proxy to the SAP servers in the DMZ.

From the Desktop - Client log in you can encrypt the user ID & Password and call the server, There is a software but need to pay for it
