null pointer exception in imported RFC

Former Member

Hi mates,

I imported the std RFCs SUBST_SCHEDULE_BATCHJOB and SUBST_START_REPORT_IN_BATCH. After the import, when I try to see the request message I get java.lang.NullPointerException. I get the same error in two diff XI systems.

Can you try importing these into your XI system and let me know if you can successfully import them?

Is this a known problem? Any solutions?

I appreciate your inputs.

thx in adv

praveen

HI Praveen,

Even when I click on it after importing I am getting the same error. But after closing that , if you go with Response you can see the Structure.

Check this note also - 716604

Hope this helps,

Moorthy,

I can see that Response and Fault messages getting imported successfully.

The note talks about the heap memory size which I think is not the cause of this problem. I guess the problem is in converting some of the ABAP types to XSD types.

HI Praveen,

I think the probelm is with one of the import parameters IV_SCHEDEVER for which the type is "GSUGI_PA-W_TADIR" and the java naming does not allow "-" in it....

A work around would be to have a Z-wrapper FM and use...

also it might be worthwhile checking / getting the OSS opinion....

Thanks,
