Eclipse Release of Netweaver Studio and other plugins

Hello Experts,

what is the base Eclipse platform Release for Netweaver development studio and is it possible to install non sap plugins. I did a lot of research at several sap docs but did'nt found actual anwers.

NWDS for NW2004 is based on Eclipse 2.0. You can run any Eclipse 2.0 plugin (doing that myself as well).

it doesn't make me happy but is it as it is

We like to use some plugins which need eclipse 3.0 at minimum which is on the road a long time.

When do we get Eclipse 3.1 - 2007. The rest of the java world is looking on Eclipse 3.2.

Well, you could use Eclipse 3.1 without the SAP plugins. I'm currently doing so. Whatever functionality you need from NWDS, it's usually quite simple to reconstruct using ant.

Just look in the forum for examples for scripts for generating SDA's and stuff:

If you're working with the portal, then I'm cooking up a guide to NOT use the NWDI and NWDS when doing portal development. Let me know if you're interested.
