Hi,
I have developed a functional composite application. Now, I want to integrate this composite application into CE portal. I would like to ask how many ways are there for portal integration?
After some reading, I acknowledged that one of the way is to configure Guided Procedures with Universal Worklist (UWL). So I navigated in my CE portal to configure the UWL. Unfortunately I could not find the "Universal Worklist" node under "System Administration" -> "System Configuration". I checked my assigned roles and they include:
- Standard User Role (eu_role)
- Super Administration (super_admin_role)
- System Admin (system_admin_role)
which should provide me sufficient authorization for accessing UWL.
So, does it mean that the UWL is not yet configured on the CE portal? How can I check that?
Thanks in advance for any ideas.
Regards,
Joon Meng
Hi,
Assign portal roles to user (check PORTAL role).
goto URL: http://host:port/irj/portal
After login goto tab :WORK there you can see UWL.

Hi Gourav,
Actually I already have the role to access "Universal Worklist" under "Work" in the portal. The problem was that I could not configure UWL for Guided Procedures because I cannot see the link "Universal Worklist" under "System Administration" -> "System Configuration" in the portal.
I am following the tutorial [Configuring UWL for Guided Procedures on Composition Environment|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/904ca240-63bc-2a10-1c98-de81b6a045bf&overridelayout=true].
Can you provide more information about this?

Hi,
I hope you are working in CE 7.0 not CE7.1.
I have all sort of roles on my system so I can see following under
"System Administration" -> "System Configuration"
->System Landscape
->Floating Aliases
->UME Configuration
->Universal Worklist & Workflow (Expand this to view information you are looking for)
->Web Dynpro Console
Search for all "Administrator" and "super user" role and assign to yourself and then try.

Hi Gourav,
I am working in CE 7.1.
The problem is that I think I already have all the roles I need, but I am only able to see
->System Landscape
->Floating Aliases
->UME Configuration
->Web Dynpro Console
Below is a list of the assigned roles.
1. Super Administration
2. CAF UI Administrator
3. GP Administrator
4. Standard User Role
5. GP Runtime WC
6. System Admin
7. CAF Administrator
8. com.sap.caf.eu.gp.roles.superuser
9. Administrator
10. GP Superuser
11. Content Admin
12. User Admin
13. System Admin
Is it possible that the UWL is not configured properly? I have found another thread which posted the same problem [UWL configuration in SAP NW CE 7.1|/thread/1416606 [original link is broken];. Unfortunately there is no solution offered.

hi,
This is strange as you must see those links in right hand frame. Can you please upload screen shot somewhere and share with us to see that the problem it.
System Admin role is sufficient for UWL configuration.
See these links: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/43/ef06a7860c7061e10000000a1553f6/frameset.htm

Hi Gourav,
I have uploaded a screenshot [here|http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8B50R9WF].
Can you please have a look?
I have checked out the Note 1309638. But I think it is more about the GP Connector for UWL. In my case, I cannot even access the UWL administration.
Looking forward to your reply.
Thanks,
Joon Meng
Hi,
It seems even initial configuration for UML is not done on this system.
Please follow this link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/d1b951987f2e99e10000000a155369/content.htm for wizard base configuration.
But double check if you can see UWL in work then possibly it is there. I suggest to consult basis guy as well.

Hi Gourav,
However, there is a "Universal Worklist" node under Home -> Work on my portal. So, does it mean that UWL is already configured?
I have also a question regarding the Wizard-Based Configuration for the Universal Worklist. In the SAP Help Website, it states that:
Only run the configuration wizard if your system has never been configured before.
How to determine if the system is already configured? If the system is already configured, is there any other way to configure UWL manually?

Hi,
>I want to integrate this composite application into CE portal
If this is your main requirement then create iView to integrate your application. Seek portal expert help else see some documentation.
Do not pay attention to BPM or GP if these have no role to play in your exact requirement (you dont' need UML for integration),
You can also seek help in Portal forum and can close this thread.

Gourav
