Restore/uncompress files from file-based contentserver

Hi,

for our DMS we use a file based contentserver. As we can see the files on contentserver are compressed. This means we can't open a file without uncompress it due to sap dms(?).

A user deleted a file in dms. Our basis guys are able to restore the file from backup.

Is it possible to uncompress the file without sap dms? What are my options to open the file?

Thx for your help!

martin

Hallo Martin,

first you have to restore the directory with the 2 files (compressed file und property-file) because in the property-file there as some information the you need.

To get this compressed file in unconpressed form to your client you can now use the function model SCMS_DOC_READ_FILES in testing mode or you write a little abap-programm.

You need the storage category normaly 'DMS_C1_ST', doc_id and phio_id (same value = directory-name) and path (client directory).

I will send you our internal Restore-manual (German language only) on your mail adress.

Hello Wolfgang,

we have the same problem you explained on this threat.

We have a single document restored from our backup system.

The file seams to be compressed. Can you please send me your internal manual.

That would help me a lot.

Best regards,
