How to learn or jump in SAP R3 environment

Dear All,

I know my question doesn't contain any technical or functional part of B1 but just eager to learn more about R3.

I have search many thing on R3 but am not getting where to start ...i have gone thru.. SAP b1 training and learn B1 with SAP site. Working on last 1 year on B1(R2)...but want to know about big picture of R3.

Also want to know about Basis and ABAP prog. Well I am DBA OCP (oracle certified professional) so in R3 module where is my best place to fit myself in SAP R3 so that i can give my best and challenging work...

1) Term Basis come indirectly in R2 ? or it totally diff. in R3 ?

2) Will R2 concept help me to learn R3 in short period time ?

3) Will DBA (Database Administrator) scope is more in R3 ?

4) Will SAP R3 need some professional training or we can learn by SAP help... ?

Please give me answer...

hi,

--> Terminology will be the same. what do you mean by indirectly?

2) Will R2 concept help me to learn R3 in short period time ?

--> in R3 it will 3 layers (presentation,application and database).

3) Will DBA (Database Administrator) scope is more in R3 ?

--> Yes DBA and netwrok admin background is helpful for SAP R3 Basis administrator

4) Will SAP R3 need some professional training or we can learn by SAP help... ?

-->I will suggest you to go for 1st any Basis online training such as What is SAP R3 etc and then attend SAP professional training (includes certification)
