UASERVER could not be started - upgrade from 46c to ERP2005SR3 on V6R1

Hi,

We are in process of starting the PREPARE phase on QA system. After

executing the PREPARE command as:

PREPARE SID(<SID>) CDPATH('/upgcds/master/UMN_OS400_PPC64')

PUTDIR('/usr/sap/put') SAPUPLIB(SAPUP) SAPUPSRV(SAPUPSRV)

We are failing to start the UASERVER in order to proceed with the

upgrade - Command used is:

==========

UASERVER DIR_PUT('/usr/sap/put') PARMS('-httpport 4239')

==========

This results in error as below:

Directory grep: 0652-033 Cannot

Open /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/<SID>_*NULL_<server_name>. in JAVA_HOME

environment variable not found. Java Virtual Machine not

created.

Java program completed with exit code 1

When I go into qshell and check JAVA_HOME, it changes to the error text as:

Directory grep: 0652-033 Cannot Open /usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/<SID>_*NULL_<server_name>

I have to manually change it to the /QIBM /... path. The JAVA_HOME ENVVAR is set properly as *SYS variable.

Please help asap. We are unable to proceed further, it has been few days.

Hi Nick,

Seems you hit a generic problem with this program in a 4.6 environment. We need to create a correction via SAP support. If you need a quick solution, I recommend to open a support ticket.

(BTW, in my first answer I did not analyze the problem correctly. Please ignore what was written there)
