Hi ,
I had a functional question regarding batches. Is it possible to have a batch tied to a customer.?In our scenario , production depends on the demand of the customer.Any product goes into production only when there is a sales order available for it .So is it possible to have a batch which also has the customer assigned to it in the SAP system ? Kindly suggest.Thanks.
Hi
A batch cannot be generally tied to a customer. A batch can be maintained at material level or plant level. So it is not possible to maintain batch at customer level.Assuming that you are doing Make To Order , and if you create a sales order for the customer with a material then that batch lot can be allotted to that customer only.Because that stock gets reserved to that customer only

Hi,
If your scenario is MTO, then batch is always allocated to that customer only for which you have generated the production order with reference to the sales order.
During the Batch Determination in delivery system will by default show you the batch allocated to that sales order.
Is this not solving your problem ?
