Installatinon shortcut workaraound

HAllo,

I am facing a situation. System Migration EAE ( server1) to EAE ( server2) .

Customer asked me to install sever2 - a new EAE system. Kernel 640 47_SR1 Oracle 10.2.0.2

Now at servere2 have installed -

1st - Central instance - sucess

2nd - Oracle software - sucess ( 10.2.0.2 as EAE server 1)

Then at later stages of DB creation ( ex ) crating tablespace, R3load, RFC creation, User creation , etc _> There comes problems and later at R3load the Installation is stuck. This is eating lot of time.

I believe " This all is not needed as it makes the database & I dont want a new system, I can skip this and just restore DB of (server1) to (server2) and then Start EAE ( server 2) "

Kernel is there R3trans also works.

Please suggest - my boss says " No install the complete system I want to see the GUI of the new EAE installation" But i feel this is not necessary.

Please let me know if I am correct.

Hi,

Being needed or not will depend exactly what was done or not already. You might encounter some problems related to authorizations etc. Where exactly is it stuck, what do the install logs say?

Hi Gunjan,

If your server1 and server2 are having same OS and database. Then simple do the homogeneous system copy.
