Hi!

I would like to install a CCMSPING agent for SAP PI 7.1. EHP1. The operating system is Windows Server 2008.

When I trying to do so with the command ccmsping -R -push I get at the end the folowwing error:

Windows Service Manager may be locked

ERROR: service registration failed

HINT: Windows Service Manager may be locked.

Close "Services" window and try again.

The services window is closed.

Question: can some one help me to solve this problem?

Thank you!

Hi Holger,

Check whether ntscmgr.exe binary is in directory usr\sap\<SID>\INSTANCE\exe

Try this service command on your server on command prompt.

C:\Documents and Settings\crpadm>ntscmgr <PRESS ENTER>

Usage: scmgr <op> <service> [-m computer] [-b binary] [-p params]

<op>: install, remove, query, start, stop, continue, interrogate

<service>: name of the service

b - path of binary service file

m - specifies computer name

p - parameter of binary service file

All the best.

Hi!

When I try this command (ntscmgr install CCMSPING.00 -p "E:\usr\sap\ccms\ccmsping.exe") I get the following error:

failure: OpenSCManager, NT ErrorMessage: Access is denied.

I am loged with the user <sid>adm

make sure <sid>adm is member of the local admins

pls. search for cmd.exe -> right click -> run as administrator and there you could register your agent. I think you have a typical "User Account Control (UAC)" problem in win wista, win 7 or server 2008.

Interesting... can you post errors on the event logs?

Maybe is open in another session?
