Experts,

one of my sap ( R3 4.7 ent) app server ( oracle db / solaris o/s) got it to this error and all the memory is used up. This caused the update process got piled up and subsequently, server crashed. This happened due to a program doing full table scan and internal table was big enough to consume entire memory. My question is--

how to limit this type of issue only to the specific program to fail, than entire app server? would appreciate your feedback.

Hi,

Check this parameter ztta/roll_extension_dia.

The idea is to set its value in order to generate a short dump for the offending program before the wole system crashes.

Search in service.sap.com\notes with the error TSV_TNEW_BLOCKS_NO_ROLL_MEMORY, you are getting.

SAP has solved most of the issues and kept them in its notes.
