Time Stream ID

Hi

I have a problem with the time stream ID. As it was created, calculation rule one month, we are missing aome weeks in the planning book.

If I change th ecalculation rule to a week, I have all the weeks, but the question is:

If i change the time stream(rule calculation), will I lose data or information in the planning book?

Can I change it without any problem?

Thanks

Hi Fernando,

Time stream function enable you to set up forecasting to account for different

wishes regarding time periods.

For example you can specify that all planning period have the same length or

specify which calendar is to be used for demand planning. Planning calendars

are valid for whole planning areas.

You can specify the length of a planning period in the forecast period, so that

this setting is valid just for a selection.

Demand Planning does not usually work with planning calendars. It could result

in unexpected results when you release data to SNP using smaller periodicities

such as days and weeks. However it is possible to specify that planning

calendars are taken into account.

There are least chances of loosing the data but the existing data will get

aligned to the new time stream id that you have used. I would suggest before

making changes take back up, test the same in QA environment and proceed

further in order to avoid lose of data in case if any.

Hi,

There should not be any issues, take a back up for the whole in a different planning area and then after changing the Time stream, remember to re initialize your planning area and also run a consistency check after the changes are made.

Thanks,

Hi Fernando

i think you are refering to the time bucket profile which you assign to a planning book.

You can change the data view any number of times as it is only a means of viewing ans planning the data.

The only thing to take care would be in some cases of planning the results will be different for planning with

different planning bucke profile.
