what is the relevance of condition type in pricing procedure determiantion.

this entry is optional.

but can any body explain its exact relevance of the condition type.

Hi Balajit,

This is how pricing works in SAP.

You have condition tables created in the system to have different prices for same material.

Each condition table represent a single price for a material.

You combine those tables & create Access Sequence. This is to set pricing determination sequence for a particular condition type.

Now you have to assign these Access Sequences to each of your condition types.

Then you set all condition types in a Pricing Procedure.

Then you have to assign your Pricing Procedure to relevant Sales area, Document Pricing Procedure & Customer Pricing Procedure.

Then you have to maintain condition master records. (VK11)

Now let's see how pricing is determined in a particular Sales order.

As soon as you enter Order type, sales area, Customer, system goes and pick below data;

- Document Pricing Procedure from document type

- Customer Pricing Procedure form Customer Master

Based on those 2 & Sales area, system goes to config & pick the relevant pricing procedure you have maintained for that combination.

Once Pricing Procedure is set, all condition types attached to that pricing procedure will get picked to the sales order line item.

If you have maintain VK11 records, then relevant price will get picked automatically.

This is how pricing works in SAP.

Go to OVKK .Here you will get the Condition Type with the Combination of Sales Area & Pricing Procedure.If you enter the Condition Type then you will get the same at Item Level in the Sales Order.

Actually , it saves time otherwise ,you have to go to Item Conditions tab & fill the relevant Condition Type.

No it is not an optional entry. Condition type is made using condition table the keys to create independent condition records and each pricing procedure is made up of n. no. of condition type which is combined in required sequence ( Define how condition type are linked for pricing calculation).

this is for Proposed condition type for fast entry

The condition type that the system automatically proposes in the double-line entry screen during sales order processing.

Enter a condition type. If you leave the field blank, the system displays the active price condition during sales order processing.

The condition type mentioned here appears in the sales overview intial screen in the sales order at the item level along with its value (next to Plant and Batch fields at the item level). That means that you can view and also change the value of this condition type directly in the overview screen itself instead of going to the pricing screen.

Generally it is PR00 so that you can see the Unit price while entering the materials. It could also be any manual discount condition type so that you can manually put the amount in the overview screen.
