Web Dynpro Layout Display & Application URL

Hi All,

We have recently setup our ECC 6.0 system to utilize SAP's WebDynpro for ABAP. However, we have two issues.

1. The first issue is that the Layout Preview never displays. We get the message "This program cannot display the webpage". I have the feeling that this is due the the URL not being HTTPS. Can anyone explain how we may be able to correct this? Is this a setup issue?

2. The second issue is that the application URLs always default to HTTP. This presents a problem when testing the application because we always need to replace the HTTP portion of the URL with HTTPS. Is there a way to have this URL always default to HTTPS?

Any help that you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you want to activate HTTPS service for the Web Dynpro ABAP Application, make changes in the Internet Communication Manager (ICM) settings.

1. T-code SMICM

2. Goto->Services

3. Check in your case, HTTP service must be activated. Select the HTTPS service and activate.
