What availability check is suggestible?

Dear Gurus,

We are into the sale of trading goods. No manufacturing is there. therefore i wana know that when the sales order is created what should happen if the material is not available in the stock ?

Our MM person has defined the MRP type as VB (Manual reordering Point) for that the schedule line CV get determined.

As there is no planning run, system is not determining the next possible date for confirmed quantity.

Client wants to know from the order that which material is not available? (Means tick in the Schedule line exist field).

So I wanted to get sure that

1) Is it required to determine the next possible date of availability of material in this scenario or just showing non availability of material will do?

2) Do I need to replace the CV schedule line by CP ?

Please Tell me the suggestible solution for above scenarios.

You may consider activating ATP check at Plant level.
