Data import performance issue

Former Member

Hi All!

I'm facing a problem. I would like to load two tables to the MDM. I do the followings:

1. Create the look-up strategy. I have got two key field.

2. I load the first table.

3. Try to load the second table with look-up method.

When I tried it first, both table contained 40 records. It took 15 minutes!!!

I did other attempts, for example: load the first table (with 40000 records), it took 45 min approximately. After I tried to load the second table (40000 records also), and the system gave it up.

Could anyone help me in this situation?

I hope, I was clear enough.

Thanks,

Gábor

Hello Gábor

My point of view

1) you have very compound mapping for that 40 records(map more then 100 fields with additional transformation)

2) you have problem in hardware or network perfomance

3) both

First:

Please check your hardware configuration:

https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700006267202006E

Second:

Check you Server perfomance when you doing import operation

Check network connection perfomance between your Servers

As recommendation

Use 3 Servers landscape:

1 Server - DBMS

2 Server SAP MDM

2 Server SAP Import manager

Third:

Check free space and memory in your PC where from you load data(it's veri important!!!!)

You should do all transformation before loadin data through Import manager

Hi Gabor

Can you please give some more details on the MDM data model, say table1 and table2 with fields T1, T2 etc and the sequence of import process you are using?

thanks

It's very difficult to say where the issue lies beacuse performance tuning MDM is a complex task that is impacted by many different aspects of the configuration and server settings. There is a guide available online entitled "Good to Know Topics Related to Sizing and Performance". I believe this is the link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/10c4cd5f-6893-2a10-a2b0-f9cb3cd38a6f

That should be very helpful.
